I can do it - though happy for someone else to do it.Avoraciopoctules wrote:The email for turn 46 should be out.
Time for pitch #2. If someone else is willing to take over running this game in a few turns, I will send them all my remaining artifacts, including the Hammer of the Forge Lord.
So since Dom 3 is being discussed

My last fort's likely going to get sieged in 0-2 turns, so I'll send the stuff out as soon as I get around to taking this turn. Once my pretender is vanquished, I'll send you the full turn folder.angelfromanotherpin wrote:Will do!

Huh, I never knew that spell existed. I'm glad it does, though.
Turn sent.

Frank has been raiding my backfield with Gargoyle thugs, and I had trouble dealing with them due to them being mindless and really buff, but it turns out enchantment has a save-or-die for magical beings, even mindless ones, called opposition. I finally managed to take them out by using it.

But yeah, the problem with Ryleh I'm finding in my other game is that aggressive action is risky, expensive, and unrewarding. So I'm turtling up.
I did say it at the timename_here wrote:I'm kind of shocked to realize how far behind I am in research, and also how badly my dominion is getting pounded.

Aggressive action is only unrewarding when dealing with equals fairly. Surprise is the name of the game in Dominions.cthulhu wrote:Turn sent.

It's probably why people get so pissy about NAPs. You can lose a war in a few turns if your enemy is prepared and you aren't.

Yeah, have to agree with K.K wrote:Aggressive action is only unrewarding when dealing with equals fairly. Surprise is the name of the game in Dominions.
Full disclosure: I was actually expecting an attack that turn, as all the signs were there. Hence the battle was less of a Patalan surprise invasion, but more of a Chelmian ambush.
I had gotten myself a NAP with Frank, meaning I had to give him warning before attacking him, but I managed to gateway ambush his initial attack with overwhelming friendly currents-enhanced force, and now I'm sitting around waiting for his vast naked lady defense force to starve to death already.

Nice try with the Darkness and the Will of the Fates. But I think it's pretty clear that the invasion by Rlyeh is out of steam.
So: get the fuck off my land and we'll call it a draw. A draw where we burned down 2000 gold worth of your temples and you killed some of our gargoyles in inventive ways. I lack the ability to put enough force under water to make you care, and any tentacles you stick on land I can obviously chop off.

Overwhelming numbers mostly. Sure, we had our own will of the fates going and our own anti-magic, and that put a huge damper in his nether dart offensive. But really, the bottom line is that as Pangaea I can simply lose 750 troops in a battle and call that battle a victory without irony. Him losing 280 troops is just a bigger deal than me losing 750.Orion wrote:How did you beat him when he had darkness and will of the fates?
If we do that five more times, I'll run out of soldiers. But if we do it two more times, Rlyeh will be in negatives.
